Lucy Adhiambo Ouma

Lucy is the last born in a family of two children. Lucy and her chronically ill mother are under care of her brother who is a hawker in the streets of Nairobi. Her brother is faced with the responsibility of taking care of his family, medical bills for his mother and the well being of his sister. This has strained the meager income from his small enterprise.

Lucy was introduced into the program through the pastor of a peri-urban church plant, and was admitted into the sponsorship as a form two student.

Lucy hopes to be a journalist and has purposed to score a B grade in her secondary national examination at the end of this year. She has drawn her inspiration from her mentor who has helped her overcome her fears and focus on the positive years ahead.
